A Garden Tea Party Fit For a Princess // Sloan's Third Birthday Party!

Our sweet Sloan Eloise is three!  And I feel like I've been saying that for weeks... she's had the birthday celebration that never ends.  But celebrating is fun so I guess I don't mind :).  About six months ago, Sloan asked if she could have a princess tea party for her third birthday.  I was so happy that she came up with such a cute theme and started pinning things right away!  It turned into more of a garden party theme (thanks to my obsession with flowers) with little princess touches here and there (you're welcome Sloan!).

Let's start with the outfit details because her outfit was seriously the best ever.  Her custom dress from Aggie and Francois was seriously nicer than my wedding dress.  The attention to detail is just beyond and cap sleeves get me every time.  I'm positive it's the most perfect tea party dress of all time.  My sweet friend Megan from Willow Crowns made Sloan the most beautiful custom flower crown and I'm pretty sure I'll be using it in every photoshoot we ever have again, it's amaze!  She also wore beautiful bracelets by June and Penny and Pretty By JL.

I kept the food simple with some tea sandwiches, fruit "wands", veggie cups, and some kid friendly snacks.  I also made tiara shaped PB&J's using this cookie cutter.

I made a photo wall by hanging white bulletin board paper and then hanging these foil fringe curtains over the paper.  My mother in law made white puff balls out of tissue paper and then I stuck some pink paper flowers in to brighten it up.  I hung the cutest tissue tassel garland from Glam Fete and the colors were just perfect (the colors are so perfect for spring, I'm hanging it on our mantle now!).  I got a big gold "3" balloon from our local party store and that was the finishing touch!

My friend Lisa (Lilac Butterfly Custom Cakes) made Sloan's four tier pink champagne naked cake and not only was it gorgeous, but it was DELISH.  Like I'm talking Eric and I devoured the leftovers the next day.  Great, now I'm craving it just writing about it!  Lisa was sweet enough to add the flowers and I added this custom cake topper.

Hands down my favorite party decoration was this custom birthday chalk board by Chalk Designs By Me.  The owner Miranda hand draws them in permanent chalk so you can reuse them year after year.  Asking Sloan the questions and recording her responses was hilarious.  She loves twirling and sweeping the floor, but doesn't like beer or dinner.  This girls cracks me up I tell you.

All of my garden party dreams came true on our dining room table.  I filled the table with fresh flowers, paper flowers, succulents, and a tea kettle I ordered for myself from giftagram.

We lucked out and got an 80 degree day (in May!) so we got to use the backyard for the party as well.  I set up a little table and tea cart with the tiniest little tea cups next to Sloan's play house.  All of the little girls sat around the table and actually drank tea (water)!  It was the cutest thing ever.  Everrrrrrr.  Not even half way through the party and all of the girls changed into princess costumes.  It was darling!  We also played "pin the party hat on Sloany" which was hilarious.  Three year olds may not be ready for party games. (I blew up a close up photo of Sloan at Costco and made the party hats out of craft paper and pom pom trim)

It was a perfect day and all about our girl!  So many friends and family members came to celebrate Sloan, my heart felt so so full!  I hope you enjoyed a peek into her third birthday party, it's definitely one I'll always remember!

At the very end of the night when everyone had gone home and Eric had already changed into gym shorts I said, "WAIT we need a family photo!!!"  So this is what I got, I'll take it :)
