Friday Favorites

Happy FriYAY ya'll!  I love doing Friday favorites with you guys because 1) It's Friday and 2) I get to chat with you guys about fun things that we love!  This week flew by (whats new?), but am I ever excited for the weekend.  Eric has been working like crazy, so I am super excited to spend some time as a family.

We had a pretty good week... Highlights: Sloan made me the cutest art project at preschool with tissue paper and water, Phayre ate little bites of pancake and watermelon and actually liked them, and we got to sneak outside for little bits between the rain! Sloan and I planted some fresh flowers in our front yard and they look so pretty.  She hasn't stopped talking about how beautiful we made our yard.  We are so ready for sunshine and summer!!

Ugh and the lows: While jogging on the treadmill at the gym and listening to Britney Spears pandora station, Lady Marmalade came on (ya know the Christina Aguilera version from Moulin Rouge) and I SANG IT OUTLOUD.  Just jogging away and then I belted out, "VOULEZ VOUS COUCHER AVEC MOI".  I only caught one lady snap her head around and look at me (most people had their own headphones in), but I was so embarrassed-I got the hell out of there.  I guess I was really feeling the music ;).  Ohhhhh and yesterday while I was nursing Phayre, Sloan ran out of the bathroom screaming, "Mommy!  Mommy!  There's poop errywhere!!!  Pwease help me cwean this up!  Poop mommy! Poop!!!"  I won't get into detail, but yes shit was "errywhere".  Yeah so that was fun :-/.

Now on to Friday favorites!

1. I have been trying to step my breakfast game up and Sloan is currently obsessed with pancakes.  You may have seen my bunny pancakes on Instagram this week (huge hit with Sloan).  You can make so many fun things with pancakes!  Next up, I'm going to try these lion pancakes and there are a ton of fun ideas on this website.

2. Gap is having their friends and family sale!!  That means 40% off of EVERYTHING with code FFBEST!  I picked up this dress and this dress for the girls.  And I cannot wait to wear these jeans this summer!  I also love this chambray romper for babies and this jean jacket for toddlers!

3. We are going on vacation next month so I picked up a few goodies for myself at Target.  I am obsessed with this one piece swimsuit.  I've never worn a one piece before, but this one is so flattering (bonus it's under $40!).  I needed some new sandals so I grabbed these flats and these wedges (again, such great prices!).  I bought the flats in both colors, I know I'll wear them a ton this summer!  I've been wanting a backpack handbag for awhile and this one is amazing!!!

4. If you're looking for the perfect Easter tee's for your littles, head over to Paper Doll Clothing Company!  They're so darling, they can totally be worn year round!

5. This DIY Easter bunny banner is so cute, I cannot wait to make one (and let Sloan glue the little puff ball tails on).  There is a free printable and it looks so simple to make!

6. Alright let's talk netflix!  Eric and I have been binge watching House of Cards and I am dying to watch Fuller House!  Watch the trailer here, it'll bring back so many memories I promise!

7. Discounts: Today is the very last day to save 10% on monogrammed bunnies over at Peekawhoo (it's also the last day to get them in time for Easter).  Use code SLOANANDCO.  You can save 15% off of Little Standout teethers with code SLOANANDCO as well!

Alright that's all I've got for today!  I hope you guys have an awesome weekend!  Until next time :).

Catching Up On The Girls

Life is crazy and busy and amazing (as usual).  Time is flying by and sometimes I worry I'll miss something because these moments are so fleeting.  The girls are changing so quickly and I really love their ages right now.  They're both so funny and amazing in their own unique ways.  I always want to remember them just the way they are right now!

Sloan will be three in two very short months.  I feel way too young to have an almost three year old!  She asks almost daily if it is her "happy birthday" yet and is dying to have a princess tea party.  She has quite the schedule of activities these days, which is making our weeks fly by.  Between preschool, ballet, swim lessons, and some play dates mixed in between I feel like we are never home. Sloan is absolutely loving preschool.  She talks about it all the time and gets so excited to go!  I love how much she loves school, it seriously makes my heart happy to see her growing and flourishing.  She is saying the funniest things and I can't get enough of the little sayings she's picked up on.  Last weekend I asked her to hand me something and she said, "Sure Mom, it's all yours."  She also loves, "Mom, are you kiddin me?!"  I made her eggs for breakfast this morning and she said, "Mom, I wanted cream cheese and a spoon for breaky!"  Oh two and a half is such a fun and silly age :).

Sloan loves ALL things princess and always has a tutu or princess dress on.  She loves to twirl, walk on her tippy toes, and have tea parties.  She's the girliest of girly girls and I love it.  Her imagination is AMAZING and I love that I get to be a part of it.  Every night when Eric gets home she lays a blanket on the floor and they "fly on a magic carpet".  She calls him Aladdin and demands that we call her Jasmine for the rest of the night.  Just love my big girl!

Phayre turned seven months old!!  SEVEN! <insert balling eyes out emoji here> Time is just a dirty thief and my tiny baby is growing up so quickly.  It's crazy how much faster time goes by with the second baby.  Phayre is seriously the happiest baby e v e r.  She never stops smiling and has never met a stranger.  She thinks Sloan is the funniest person ever and she's a major mamas girl.  She's finally coming around to solids, but girlfriend is picky.  She loves pears... and well,  pears.  She can sit up and rolls over when she feels like it, but she has absolutely no interest in moving anywhere.  She's really at that perfect age where she can sit up and play, but can't go anywhere or get in to anything.  Her mouth houses TWO of the tiniest and cutest teeth I have ever seen.  She sleeps from about 8pm to 5am, nurses, and then goes back to sleep until 7:30am.  She's taking three naps a day and still nurses every three hours.  She weighs 16.5 pounds and I could seriously eat her cheeks I love them so much!  She is such a sweet girl and I feel so lucky she's all ours.

The girls are really starting to interact and it's the sweetest ever.  Sloan loves making Phayre laugh and Phayre thinks she's the funniest ever.  Phayre is grabbing at everything and Sloan has just begun getting frustrated with her.  It's as if she's realizing that Phayre is a real person in our house!  She's not always going to be a blob that stays out of Sloan's toys :).  The other night Sloan started eating all of Phayre's puffs off of her highchair tray and Phayre started YELLING at Sloan!  At first I thought it was hilarious and then I got this major feeling of panic... Holy crap I am going to be pulling these two apart for the next few decades.  But they really do adore each other and watching them together is the sweetest thing in the whole world.

I just feel so lucky that I get to say "my girls".  I have TWO daughters and I feel so blessed!  They're happy and healthy and I really couldn't ask for more.  Now if only I could figure out how to slow time down!

Little Standout // Product Review

Alright mama's, we are in the thick of teething with little miss Phayre and I'm sure you can all relate! I feel like the first year consists of teething, teething, and well more teething! She is putting EVERYTHING in her mouth.  And I mean everything-my phone, her clothes, the remote, our dogs ear... you get the picture.  While we do have some teething toys, nothing seems to keep her interest for very long.  I started searching for the perfect teether (in hopes of saving the dogs ear) and I am so excited to share a company called Little Standout with you today!

Little Standout makes the cutest teethers and they are safe, functional, and perfect for the trendy mama and babe.  We all know babies put everything in their mouths.  Well, Little Standout teethers are made of 100% silicone which is non-toxic.  Perfect for something that is going to be chewed and gnawed on by little babes.  They are also so easy for Phayre to grab on her own and hold on to.  If it's not in her mouth, she's looking at it and playing with it.  She hasn't stopped chewing on these since we got them and I love that the colors and designs are so trendy and fun.  You can also pop them in the freezer and they're dishwasher safe!

Staci Civins started Little Standout because she thought that teething toys should make a statement and standout.  Not only is she incredibly talented, but she's super sweet too!  She currently has four designs (we have the diamond and camera and I am dying to get the hashtag and hand) in really bright and fun colors.  You can learn lots more about Little Standout here and you should definitely check them out on Instagram and Facebook!

Want to win a teether?  We are giving away a teether over on Instagram (@sloan_and_co)!  And now through March 31st you can save 15% with code SLOANANDCO. We seriously love these teethers, you will not be disappointed!

Cuddle + Kind // 1 Doll = 10 meals

You guys, I am so excited to share a company called Cuddle + Kind with you today!  Cuddle + Kind makes sweet and cuddly hand-knit dolls and for every doll purchased, they give ten meals to children in need.  The dolls are knitted in Peru, giving women a fair trade income.  Cuddle + Kind provides over 100 jobs and has helped children all over the world.  Who doesn't want to get their child a cuddly companion while helping other children??  I just love this company and I'm so excited to share not only how awesome of a company it is, but also how it has affected my family.

You can learn lots more about Cuddle + Kind here and you should absolutely watch this video!  I just adore creator Jen and her beautiful family.

Sloan chose Chloe the pink bunny for herself and Chelsea the cat for Phayre.  Phayre chews on her which really offends Sloan, so usually Sloan "watches" Chelsea for Phayre ;).

Sloan has been struggling with some really severe social anxieties (mostly centered around stranger danger) lately.  We have had some really awful situations where her anxieties have gotten the best of her and it has truly been heartbreaking.  It's gotten so bad that she doesn't want to do things that she has always loved because she is overcome with anxiety or fear.  After speaking with her pediatrician we came up with some things to try in hopes of helping her with her anxieties.  One of the things she told us to try was to give Sloan some type of comfort item to carry with her when we're out.

Our Cuddle + Kind dolls came the same day we spoke to our doctor and I immediately knew that Chloe the bunny was the perfect companion for Sloan.  We sat down and talked about how Chloe could come anywhere with us and that she would help Sloan be brave.  I told her that if she ever feels scared or nervous that all she has to do is hug Chloe and Chloe will keep her safe and help her be brave.  Sloan has taken Chloe on most of our outings over the last week.  Sometimes she leaves her in the car and other times she clings to her the entire time we're out.  While she still struggles at times, we are working on it and definitely seeing improvement.  It means so much to me that Chloe the bunny has helped even a little bit!

Sloan and Chloe heading into ballet.

I hope you guys will check out Cuddle + Kind and that you like them as much as I do!  Make sure to check them out on Instagram and Facebook too!
