When we're home, we spend most of our time in our family room. It's comfortable and kid friendly, and we always end up in there when we have friends or family over too. The room is anchored by an old
sectional couch that has three kids worth of stains, but is so comfortable! We have a
diaper caddy, a basket of books, and cozy blankets in there too. It's our hang out space-where we watch movies, have family campouts, and the most common place I sit to nurse Briar.
I get asked all the time to share our family room, so I thought I'd share a few photos of the space. The room is kept tidy, but definitely has a lived in feel. I want to hang some more art work around the tv eventually, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I framed one of Sloan's watercolor rainbows that I really need to get up on the wall!
It's no secret that I love
Sugarboo and Co! We have several of their art pieces throughout the house. We've had the
"Daring I love you" art prints for several years and they've traveled all over with us and have been used in multiple rooms in our house. I recently added some Sugarboo throw pillows and I love how oversized they are! They have zippers and come right off so that I can easily wash the covers.

If you're trying to create a family friendly living space, I highly recommend getting a large couch with enough seating for the whole family. Don't spend a fortune if you have little (and messy!) kids, but spend enough so that it'll hold up through the years. Lots of cozy blankets and pillows are necessary for keeping warm and building forts. Have some small books or toys available for kids to play with throughout the day, but not too much so that it's hard to pick up at the end of the day. And lastly, hang artwork that makes you feel happy.
I hope you enjoyed a peak into our space!
