It's already the weekend again! I swear the weeks zoom by faster and faster! No complaints here though, I can't wait to have daddy home and to snuggle my babies all weekend. We have a birthday party, a few home projects, and Christmas decorations to put up! Oh and our little Briar is being dedicated at church on Sunday, I'm super excited about that!
So many of you guys asked about the girls green jackets with fur hoods, so I thought I'd link them here. They're so cute and really reasonable for the quality.
We are going to pull out a few Christmas decorations this weekend and I CANNOT WAIT!!! Eric is going to try and get lights on the house and Sloan is so excited to decorate the playroom Christmas tree! We got the girls a rose gold tinsel tree last year and it's available again this year! If you're on the fence about this tree, just get it-I promise you'll love it!
If you see me post about these juice glasses twelve more times in the next month, it's just because I really want them for Christmas (HINT HINT ERIC ;)). I'm obsessed, they're so cute!
And speaking of gifts for mom, I love these fuzzy slippers (plus I think they'd make a great gift for friends, sisters, cousins, etc).
I posted earlier this week on my Instagram stories about a company called Brightbox. They are these little $5 gifts you can send to your loved ones (think small gifts like candles, bath bombs, candies, and more). I definitely plan on sending a few of those to friends this holiday season. If you haven't seen them yet, check them out!
Has anyone seen the trailer for The Star? It seriously looks like such a sweet and festive movie, I cannot wait to take my girls!
If you're hosting Thanksgiving and need a garland, this pie one is way too cute.
I think I'm going to try this corn pudding recipe on Thanksgiving, it looks yummy and I want to try something new!
Speaking of food, did you see my toddler eats post? If you have little ones, make sure you check it out!
I hope you babes have a wonderful weekend!

Toddler Eats // Meal ideas
Feeding little people can be tricky for a few reasons... you run out of ideas, you run out of time, or (and this one is the worst) you have a picky eater. As someone who has a very very picky eater, I've experienced major frustration when it comes to cooking for my kids. I'm not really ever an extremest, I believe very much in moderation. I try to cook healthy meals for my kids, making sure they get a good mixture of the food groups. I also love rewarding my kids after a long week with ice cream. Bottom line-I don't overly push or restrict anything. I believe creating life long healthy eaters has to include balance!
The only rule in our house is you have to try one bite. If after that one bite they decide they don't like it, they don't have to eat the entire portion. BUT-if they do not eat, nothing else is offered. I've been known to pack up breakfast in a tupperware container and take it with us on errands if they refuse to eat what I've made. You better believe when they ask me for a snack half way through Target I whip a container out with their breakfast!
Speaking of breakfast, Sloan and Phayre ate a hot breakfast pretty much every day of their lives until Briar was born. Since having Briar, Sloan has gone back to preschool three mornings a week. There just isn't enough time to make a hot breakfast and get to preschool on time so I just introduced cereal. I usually buy cheerios and the girls are thrilled to be getting cereal now. I also try to make egg cups once a week and heat those up on preschool mornings (see recipe below).
I documented what I cooked for the girls for one week in hopes that it would give you guys some ideas when cooking for your kids. I'm not a food or health blogger so these aren't gourmet meals by any stretch. I'm a busy mom of three and when it comes to cooking, I try to make healthy meals that my kids will actually eat. You'll see that I usually try to hide vegetables in meals rather than offering them on their own. The girls will eat veggies more willingly if they're mixed in a meal so I do that a lot!

We use Replay Recycled dishes for the girls and I absolutely love them. I originally found their sippy cups I was instantly hooked. They never ever leak, they're my absolute favorite. We've since tried all of their dishes and they're all we use now.
Sloan sits in a booster seat at the kitchen table and Phayre still sits in a highchair. We have the Skip Hop Tuo convertible high chair and I love it because it's a super simple design and easy to clean. We've had a couple highchairs and they were AWFUL to clean. I hate when food gets in tiny crevices!! The Skip Hop Tuo is easy to clean and it's super lightweight. We really enjoyed eating out on our back deck this summer and I loved that we could move P's highchair around so easily.
Monday
Breakfast: cereal, strawberries, and banana.
Lunch: turkey and cheese wrap, strawberries, and applesauce.
Snack: cucumbers and grapes.
Dinner: grilled chicken, corn on the cob, strawberries and watermelon.
(strawberries only last about one day in our house because the girls demand to eat them with every meal!)
Tuesday
Breakfast: banana and a breakfast quesadilla with egg, vegetarian sausage, zucchini, and cheese.
Lunch: grilled cheese sandwich, cucumber, mandarin oranges.
Snack: cantaloup, grapes, and an applesauce pouch.
Dinner: ratatouille rice bowls (rice with zucchini, yellow squash, onion, bell pepper, and chicken).
Wednesday:
Breakfast: bacon and egg cup and banana.
Lunch: turkey, cream cheese, and cucumber roll up, olives, and watermelon.
Snack: yogurt and pirate booty.
Dinner: homemade chicken chow mein and watermelon (I pack the chow mein with veggies like carrot, celery, onion, peas, zucchini, and cabbage).
Bacon and egg cup recipe:
1. Cook bacon just enough so that it's cooked through, but still really soft and not crispy (I bake mine in the oven for 7-8 minutes at 400 degrees).
2. Spray a muffin tin with non-stick spray and then line each muffin hole with a piece of bacon.
3. I break up three pieces of whole wheat bread into quarters and drop a little piece of bread into each muffin hole.
4. Crack an egg into each muffin hole and then sprinkle the top with salt, pepper, and shredded cheese.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes (until egg is cooked through).
Thursday:
Breakfast: cereal and banana.
Lunch: avocado toast, salami, cheese, and cantaloup.
Snack: the girls actually had grapes, cheese, and crackers, but I forgot to take a picture before they ate it! Oops :)
Dinner: Chick-fil-a because our afternoon errands ran long and we had a church event that night so I was in a major rush!
***We had an early doctor appointment and since we were out of the girls cereal, they talked me into letting them have daddy's sugary cereal. Not our healthiest day, but everything in moderation remember!!
Friday:
Breakfast: egg cups with watermelon and cantaloup.
Lunch: chicken quesadilla, pear, and carrots with ranch.
Snack: cantaloup and a granola bar.
Dinner: ribs, strawberries, mashed potatoes, and green beans (the girls ate their green beans while waiting for the rest of dinner to be finished).
Here is a quick list of our go to meals:
Breakfast:
-scrambled eggs or omelet with meat and veggies
-breakfast quesadillas

Friday Favorites
It's been awhile since I've shared a Friday Favorites! Well it's been awhile since I've blogged regularly... hashtag livin' that newborn life. But it's FRIDAY and I couldn't be more thrilled to have dada home for the weekend!
First things first though. Lot's of you emailed and messaged me about my post about transitioning from 2-3 children. While so many of you said the sweetest things, I was shocked at how many of you thought that I have this three kid thing all figured out?! Guys, I'm no super mom! I love my sweet babies hard and I try my darndest to fill our days with joy and love, but we have our fair share of sleepless nights and rough days around here. I will say this though-Since having Briar, time is flying by at lightening speed. I am so aware of it that I feel like I have a different mind set recently. I have a little more patience, I throw my hands up and laugh in crazy situations, and I find it more important than ever to drop everything and squeeze my babies. I have always genuinely loved being a stay at home mom... adding Briar to the mix has made things crazier at times, but honestly I'm happier than I've ever been. I appreciate all of you and your support more than I'll even be able to express! Thank you!
Now on to some current faves...
Phayre talked me into buying her this cupcake beanie and it might be one of the better decisions I've made in awhile because it is so cute.
Just snagged the girls these winter boots for Christmas on major sale! $28 each, down from the original heavty price tag of $69.95! I may have also treated myself to a new pair of leopard print slip on sneakers :). (just make sure you enter code CHEERS at checkout!)
You know we have a serious love for Hunter rain boots over here and I found pink boots for toddlers/girls on sale! I also love these green boots for boys or girls (and they're on sale too!!).
It's almost the most wonderful time of year which means it's time to bust out the holiday jams! I love this family pajama set, there's something for everyone in the whole family!
If you're looking for the perfect holiday dress for your little girl, look no further! This velvet dress is only $15 with an additional 20% off at checkout! I bought it in green and pink I think it's so cute.
Briar got his first winter coat (welcome to Oregon little man!) and I cannot wait for him to wear it! I also ordered him little baby jeans which I'm kind of dying over. Oh and this sweatshirt because goodness B is one lucky boy!
It's supposed to be super cold and rainy all weekend so I'm making our favorite ever Zuppa Toscana soup and we decided it's time to bust out the Christmas movies. I found one of my all time favorites To Grandmothers House We Go on DVD and cannot wait to watch it with the girls!
That's all I have for you today babes, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Step right up to see the AHHMAAAAZING BROWN FAMILY CIRCUS // Halloween 2017
Happy Halloween friends! I cannot believe it is already the last day in October and one of our favorite holidays is here! We had such a great month, celebrating Halloween is like the cherry on top. We made it to four pumpkin patches this year and the girls talked me into buying more pumpkins than I ever have before. Our porch is overflowing with pumpkins and I love it! Briar slept through pretty much every festive thing we did so I'm assuming that means he loves Halloween too ;).
We spent last weekend doing lots of fun and festive things like carving pumpkins with friends, stealing our kids Halloween treats, and watching Room on the Broom 83756 times. Sloan had a harvest party at her preschool yesterday and said, "It was SOOOOO fun mommy! I got the best prizes ever and everyone loved my beautiful dress!" She chose to dress up as Elsa and I even braided her hair into an "Elsa braid". Phayre chose to be her beloved Boo from Monsters Inc. and I kind of couldn't get over how cute she looked! I have a feeling she'll be wearing her Boo costume again and again.
For trick-or-treating, we are dressing up as a family and this year we went with a circus theme! Let's be honest-since having our third baby, our life pretty much is a circus. It felt like the most appropriate theme yet and I had so much fun putting everyones costume together! Sloan was our ringmaster, Briar her ferocious lion, Phayre our silly clown, Eric the strongest man, and I have the most glamorous role-the bearded lady :).
My very sweet friend Lindsey of Lindsey Wiatt Photography took these darling photos, if you're in the Portland, OR area check her out!
I hope you have a fun and safe Halloween friends!
